Children's Talk: God's people through the wicked king, Ahab, turn from him to worship Baal. Elijah the prophet challenges Baal's priests. They and he will build alters to their respective gods. The God who answers their prayers with fire is the true and living God. Baal cannot respond to the prayers of the priests. Elijah prays and the LORD answers with fire. The people respond, "The LORD he is God"
Morning Service: (1 John 1:5-10). To have fellowship with God, who is light, through Jesus Christ is the greatest experience for each of us. This fellowship is on God's terms: the people in fellowship with him must not live lives motivated by self and evil (walk in darkness) but seek to walk in the light (live as God commands). However when Christians fall they have God who is faithful to forgive (because of Jesus' blood) to turn to.
Evening Service: (2 Timothy 3:16-17). "Scripture Alone" is one part of the motto of the Protestant Reformation. The Bible is God's word given to us. It makes us wise for salvation: showing us that we need saving from our sins through the Saviour, Jesus Christ. The Bible is the Christian's final authority for faith and lifestyle.
