We thought about the significance of the poppy. Giving thanks for the sacrifice of others.
Morning Service: (John 1:1-2, part 1). John the Apostle writes reminding Christians that through faith in Jesus Christ they have fellowship with God, who is light. Christians then aim to live lives that are consistent with God's character and nature. Yet when Christians sin we rejoice that we have Jesus Christ, the righteous as our advocate and propitiation (who has reconciled God to us and turned his wrath away from us.
Evening Service: (Psalm 51, overview). David the king sins dreadfully, tried to cover up his sins but the LORD knew. he convicts David of his sin. David can only throw himself on the abounding mercy of the LORD. The LORD forgives and David is enabled to rejoice in the LORD's forgiveness.
