Faithful Daniel and his 3 faithful friends are in a fix - they face execution. Daniel's faith in his unfailing LORD means that he doesn't panic but calmly commits the situation to the LORD. The LORD answers their prayers: Daniel responds with praise and thanks.
In the spiritual warfare Christians have to admit that they are weak in and of themselves. They have to trust God to strengthen them as they resolve to obey him. This is what it is to be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. It;s not a matter of feeling spiritually strong but of trusting the Lord.
Preparations are well underway for Christmas. So much to do and buy etc. Trees, decorations, food and presents. God prepared well for Christmas. Over the centuries he sent his prophets to tell people of the Messiah. One of these great prophecies is: the Messiah will be called Emmanuel (God with us).
Morning Service: (Daniel 1),
Daniel as a young lad in a hostile situation is enabled to resolve to be faithful to the LORD. The LORD is sovereign and Daniel trusts him, not knowing where his faithfulness to the LORD will put him.
1 John 3:5&8,
The Son of God appears & the devil's works are destroyed. At Bethlehem, the first Christmas, the eternal Son of God appeared. He did not begin to exist but appeared as a real human baby. The purpose of this was to ultimately take away sin and destroy the devil's works. So Jesus' birth leads to his death on the cross and his resurrection from the dead
