Children's Talk. Peter and John have been arrested and told that they must no longer preach in the name of Jesus. They had been preaching that Jesus had died, been raised from the dead and ascended back into heaven. When they were told to stop preaching they met with other Christians to pray and then ... preached again in the name of Jesus.

Great session today homing in on the cross as Jesus dies. Interesting that Christ goes to the cross voluntarily to give his life for our sins. Great discussion time
Evening Service: We thought again about the prayer of Jesus just before he was arrested. He prays for all people who will believe the message of his disciple. He prays that they will be one in the all that God has told us in the Gospel. He prays that they will be with him and see his never ending glory .

Numbers were down today due to the weather, amongst other things. Nevertheless a good time was had by all. As always the home made cake went down a treat.

Jeanette Hughes was our speaker to day. She spoke about 3 people: Noah, Hannah and a thief on a cross . Three people in very different circumstances who experienced God's grace and mercy. Point being: no matter who we are or what we're going through God is always there and can be trusted. The thief on the cross experienced God's mercy as he called out to Jesus, who was hanging on the middle cross.
Children's Talk: 7 weeks after Jesus Christ ascended back into heaven the promised Holy Spirit was given. The first result of this was the disciples fearlessly preaching the Good News about Jesus. 3,000 people became Christians. This was the first step in Christianity spreading quickly.

Morning Service: Psalm 103 is a challenge for us, as individuals, to worship God [Jehovah]. He is worthy of the woship of all. He is worthy of my worship. In and through Jesus Christ we can worship God in a worthy and acceptable way. True Christian worship is not just chapel/church on a Sunday but a whole-life attitude that has Jesus Christ at its centre.
