One of the Bible's great declarations regarding God is: "God is love". The Bible is God showing us his person and character & to read it is a great privilege. God's love is self-giving, sacrificial & constant. It is seen fully as the Lord Jesus dies on the cross
Morning Service, Daniel 12:1-4:
Daniel is taken by the angel to a future period of great persecution for God's people. Then the end will come. God's suffering people can take comfort that they will be raised to everlasting life, the hardship suffered in this world will end.
The Lord Jesus claimed that he would one day return to our world. To be ready for this momentous event he calls us to be living in commitment and obedience to him. he warns against hypocrisy and despising his words to the extent that we live ignoring that he will, one day, return to our world.
Jesus meets a woman by a well. He uses the everyday experience of being thirsty to explain to the lady that her unhappiness and loneliness was due to the thirst in her soul. The Lord Jesus then explains that he gives himself to quench our thirsty souls.
Morning Service, Daniel 10-11.
The LORD reveals to Daniel that in the future God's people will be terribly persecuted. However because they know God then they will stand firm. God knows our future and gives strength to stand firm when we commit ourselves to him.
Evening Service; Ephesians 4:3.
Maintain the unity of the Spirit. Peace and unity are two things that should dominate any Christian congregation. Peace and harmony coming from the shared experience Christians have had i.e. experiencing God's forgiving love in their hearts.
