Sunday 29th June
Morning Service: In the Children's Talk we took the story of Josph to the point where his brothers' hatred was so intense that they threw into a deep pit, then sold him to some slave traders and faked his death. How amazing that Joseph years later was able to say, "God meant it for good".
This morning's sermon concentrated on Haggai Ch2: God says to his people, "Be Strong, for I am with you". Click on the links below if you would like to read Haggai 2 or hear this sermon.
Evening Service: We concentrated of John Chapter 14 & 3 of Jesus' great claims
1. I am the way, the truth and the life
2. I am in the Father and the Father is in me
3. If you have see me, you have seen the Father
If you would like to read John 14, this link will take you to it.

Sunday 29th June.
Following the evening service Greg Francis did a presentation of the work he and other Christian charities carried out in Soweto. They were involved in refurbishing a school that was used by 800 children.
It was a great presentation and exceptionally thought provoking.
Two visiting preachers yesterday.
In the evening service we concentrated on Psalm 24, thinking about:
1. Christians worship God.
2. We worship in Jesus' Name - he gives us the purity we need.
3. Worshipping God develops our relationship with him.

15 th June Morning Service
We started telling the story of Joseph today in the Children's Talk. His father gave him a colourful coat, he was hated by his brothers but became Prime Minister of Egypt. Many bad things happened to Joseph but he said at the end of his life, "God meant it for good".
The sermon, from Haggai Chapter 1 concentrated on the need to give God top priority. If you would like to read this part of the Bible click on this link.
IF you would like to hear it please click below. Select from the list [Windows Media Player should do the rest]. You will also find a recording of the evening's sermon here.
The second session in this documentary exploring Christianity and Jesus Christ, went well.
We discussed "How does Jesus Christ change lives?"
and the answer: by reparing our broken relationship with God.
There was a good discussion over tea, coffee and cakes.
These sessions are open to anyone - no charge.
The DVD is available from https://www.10ofthose.com/
However we can supply a copy if you contact us
The ladies had a great day out yesterday. An afternoon in Rhossili [one of the UK's best beaches]. This was followed by a great carvery in The Buck, Pontlliw. Recommended!
Just before going we listened to a short talk entitled "Fellowship with God"
This link will take you to this talk, should you wish to listen to it.
The part of the Bible that it is based on can be found on this link:
There's warm welcome for all ladies to join us in Septmeber, after our Summer break.
8th June: Today is Pentecost Sunday.
In the evening service we sung a hymn that had been written by Pat Turner, one of our members. This is it:
How it thrills my soul with gladness
As I journey day by day
Just to know my tender Shepherd
One who leads me all the way
He provides me with still waters
In his pasture green I feed
Precious Jesus! Ever faithful
He supplies my every need
Often as I travel onwards
Steep and rough the path will be
But I have divine protection
For my Shepherd walks with me
Even in the vale of shadows
Never fearing death’s alarms
Precious Jesus guides me homewards
Hold me safely in his arms
When I reach the gates of Heaven
In my Father’s house to dwell
There my Shepherd will be waiting
Sing, my soul, for all is well
O! what prospects there await me
Though unworthy of such grace
Precious Jesus! King of Glory!
I shall see Him face to face
6th June: Just back from Coffee, Tea and Chat.
