Mervyn Christopher was our guest preacher today. In the morning service he reminded us from Philippians Chapter 1 that this joy is ours when:
1. We trust Christ to deal with our sins
2. Trust God with our future
3. Take the positive step to choose this joy
4. Make Christ the centre of our lives.

Children's Talk: Photographs make great images of the real thing. Human beings were created in God's image. This image was marred by the Fall in the Garden of Eden. Jesus restores that image in us as we trust him
Evening Service: Our guest preacher, Mervyn Christopher, concentrated on Philippians Chapter 2.
For Jesus Christ, the Son of God, to be crucified was degrading and humiliating but he humbled himself and did this. Why? So that people like us can be restored to God through Jesus Christ.

Children's Talk: 6 weeks following the ascension of Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit is sent to the disciples. God shows that something significant is happening. The sound of a great wind, tongues of fire and the disciples speaking in foreign languages all point to an important event. Last Thursday was Ascension Day; remembering Jesus' return to heaven and so we concentrated to day on this.
Morning Service Jesus ascends into heaven in his real human body to the place of supreme glory - God's right hand. He has finished his work of dealing with sin and conquering death. His ascension gives us assurance that this work is complete, his people will share in his victories annd this encourages us so that we don't get weary in life.

Morning Service: Acts 11, when a Roman soldier and other Romans receive the message that there is forgiveness in Christ. Peter, Jesus' disciple, makes the point that God now blesses Gentiles with repentance unto life. This is eternal life, which is knowing God and Jesus whom he has sent.
