Dafen looks set to benefit from faster internet speeds as part of a commitment to upgrade the UK communications network. Openreach, who are responsible for the task, are upgrading the network by laying fibre optic cables over the current copper lines. They are using £2.5 billion committed by the BT Group to make superfast fibre broadband available to two-thirds of the homes in Britain by end Spring 2014.
Llanelli is forecast to be ready by September 2013, and residents of Dafen served by the Llanelli Exchange, should be able to take advantage of this as soon as the street cabinets in the area have been upgraded.
To find out whether or not you'll be able to get superfast fibre broadband for a specific property, and the cost, use the line checker on your preferred supplier's website.
