Hywel Dda University Health Board has confirmed the successful appointment of a GP group to provide medical services for the patients of Andrew Street Practice (which has a branch in Dafen). The Rosedale Medical Group will take over from Dr Devichand when he retires on the 30 September 2015. Dr Devichand will, however, continue to work alongside the new GPs following his retirement. This means that patients registered with Andrew Street Practice will continue to access services as they have always done and do not need to do anything further.
Elaine Lorton, Assistant Director of Primary Care for Hywel Dda UHB, said: “I am pleased that we are able to reassure patients registered with Andrew Street Practice that GP services will continue under the Rosedale Medical Group after Dr Devichand retires. “Drs Perry, Mellin and Williams bring with them great experience in providing general medical services and I hope this ends any uncertainty over the future of the practice.
“I’d like to thank the patients of Andrew Street Practice who took the time to let us know their feedback through our questionnaire and public meeting. We fully recognised the strength of feeling that patients wished to remain with Andrew Street Practice and I am pleased that Hywel Dda UHB can provide that reassurance today.”
Dr Huw Perry, Dr Kristy Mellin, and Dr Paul Williams of Rosedale Medical Group are excited to meet the patients of Llanelli. They are very much looking forward to working with Dr Devichand in the near future, in order to continue to provide excellent care to the patients of Andrew Street Surgery.
A meeting has being arranged by the practice to commence at 7.15pm on 23 September at the Lliedi Suite, Selwyn Samuel Centre, Llanelli when patients can meet with both the new GPs and Dr Devichand.
Hywel Dda UHB will be writing directly to patients registered with Andrew Street Practice shortly to confirm the news.
