Llanelli Rural Council would like your views on local matters that are important to you.
What is it like living in the wider Llanelli area? What are your hopes for the future? What needs to change? How can we help tackle the big issues at the local level?
These are some of the questions being put to people living and working in the Dafen, Llwynhendy, Bynea, Felinfoel, Glyn, Hengoed and Swiss Valley areas through an online survey and a series of community workshops. The objective is to use the comments and suggestions gained from the survey and workshops to produce a “ place plan” which will identify a set of key actions the Llanelli Rural Council will address in conjunction with other partners and local groups. The initiative is part of a wider ongoing “national conversation” “The Wales We want” which will set national goals for the sort of Wales we hope to live in by 2050. Local people won’t have to wait that long for local changes though as the Rural Council plans to take action on the plan as soon as it’s finalised in April.
“I would encourage as many people as possible to complete the survey or attend a workshop as we need to get a good cross-section of views on what’s important to change locally” said Councillor Lindy Butler, Chairman of the Llanelli Rural Council.
