Dafen AFC announce that all Minis and Juniors games played during 2013 -14 will be in 3D - High Definition
In an attempt to boost player and coaching numbers in the younger age groups, Dafen Welfare AFC have announced that all games for the coming 2013 -14 season will be played in 3D-HD. It is anticipated that the games will also be fully interactive, with players' whole body movements being able to control the game, just like on some games consoles, but without the need for a Motion Recognition sensor-bar or camera.
The move has come after it was identified that the amateur sport was facing increased competition from modern technology and that some kids often preferred to spend all their free time on high-spec TVs, PCs and games consoles rather than play sport.
A spokesman for Dafen Welfare AFC said, "We have been running trials of 3D-HD soccer in Dafen since 1917 and have found that it works rather well. Much better than anything generated on a TV Screen. Our senior players were brought up playing it. Most players agree that it is more exciting than playing computer games, and young people in Dafen and the surrounding areas should be taking advantage of this fantastic real-life action experience."
It was admitted, that to access 3D-HD games, some players and spectators may need special viewing aids (glasses). But these can be purchased from any high-street optician, and are available for many free on prescription. Most participants will be able to take part without the use of the aids, but it is not yet certain whether referees will be required to use the technology.
If you or anyone you know is interested in taking part in 3D-HD interactive soccer (i.e., real-life football), Dafen Welfare AFC have Minis teams from Under 7's to Under 11's, and Juniors teams from Under 12's to Under 16's. They are also in urgent need of coaches, and are offering free coaching courses for anybody interested. For further information visit Dafen Website Notice Board or go to http://www.dafenafc.co.uk
